Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Summit Language School (SLS) (“we”, “us”, “our”), located in Sadat City, Menoufia, Egypt, collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our public website (https://summitlanguageschool.com/), our school management system (SLS ERP at https://summitlanguageschool.com/slserp/), the parent/student portals, and related Google-connected features.
1. Who we are
Summit Language School operates educational services and digital systems for enrolled students, parents/guardians, and school staff. Contact: phone (048) 2679170 / 01080072507 / 01105608982 / 01203416464. For privacy requests, contact the school administration using the details published on our website.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use our services, we may process:
- Identity and contact details (name, national ID where required, phone, email, address)
- Student academic and administrative records (grades, attendance, fees, applications, messages)
- Account and security data (usernames, encrypted passwords, login sessions, device/browser metadata)
- Website usage data (pages visited, IP address, cookies needed for login and site operation)
- Payment and fee-related records necessary to operate the school
3. How we use information
We use personal data only to operate the school and its systems, including: admissions and enrollment, teaching and assessment, parent communication, fee management, staff administration, security/fraud prevention, legal compliance, and reliable backup of school systems.
4. Google user data (OAuth / Google APIs)
Some SLS features connect to Google with your permission through Google’s OAuth consent screen. This may include:
- Staff sign-in with Google (when enabled): we receive basic profile identifiers needed to authenticate the staff account (such as Google account email and profile name/ID). We use this only to sign the authorized staff member into SLS ERP.
- Google Drive backups (authorized school Google account only): our secure server backup job may request access to Google Drive to upload compressed site and database backup archives to a designated Drive folder. We use Google Drive solely as off-site storage for school system backups.
Access: Google user data is accessed only after an authorized school administrator grants consent, and only for the scopes shown on Google’s consent screen.
Use: Google user data is used only to authenticate staff or to store/manage school backup files. We do not use Google user data for advertising, analytics resale, or unrelated products.
Storage: OAuth tokens required for Drive backup are stored on our secured server configuration (restricted file permissions) and are used by the backup process. Backup archives may reside on Google Drive in the folder chosen by the school. Staff session data is stored in our ERP database/session storage.
Sharing: We do not sell Google user data. We do not share Google user data with third parties except as required to operate the service (for example, Google itself as the API provider), or when required by law. School staff access is limited by role/permission inside SLS ERP.
Limited use: Our use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for website operation, language preference, authentication/session security, and core ERP features. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent login or form submission.
6. Data retention
We retain school records for as long as needed for educational, administrative, legal, and backup purposes. Google Drive backup snapshots are retained according to the school’s configured retention settings and may be pruned automatically. OAuth access can be revoked at any time in your Google Account permissions; after revocation, Drive backup uploads stop until re-authorized.
7. Security
We apply administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to a school system, including access controls, encrypted transport (HTTPS), restricted server permissions for backup credentials, and role-based permissions in SLS ERP. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. Your choices and rights
Parents and staff may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data where applicable under Egyptian law and school policy, subject to records we must keep for legal or educational reasons. You may revoke Google access from your Google Account → Security → Third-party access. Portal users may also use in-product privacy controls where available.
9. Children’s data
We process student data to provide schooling services to enrolled students, typically under the authority of the school and the student’s parent/guardian. Our systems are not directed at children as a public social network; parent/guardian accounts manage portal access for minors as configured by the school.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect system or legal changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the website or SLS ERP after an update means the revised policy applies.
